I've never had a Harley

And perhaps I'm worse off for it. I do know that I've come close a few times, so there must be some Harley blood in there somewhere. And I'm really keen on eventually getting a Sportster 883 or 1200. Pretty cool to me.

Specially when I come across this:

I like this one:

I borrowed the pic from BikerNet.com, so thanks a bunch to them.

The number of Harleys up here is incredible. And there are plenty of old people riding them.

Unfortunately, the number of deer is very high, as well, and that leads to tragedy. Don't drink and ride. Don't ride at dusk.

I'm thinking of getting a Harley after I see that video. The very first (and last) one. That was awesome.

There's a lot to be said for not taking a deer for a ride with you. For one, those hooves and antlers would probably mar the paint and then those swirl marks the buffer leaves behind are atrocious.

In all seriousness, though, Geoff Romero was apparently in a pretty bad motorcycle accident this summer. :^(

Is he all right?

Is Ron Bell his attorney?

I think Geoff is going to be alright - he said he needs a little more cosmetic surgery.

I looked at the Fat Boy and you are right - pretty nice.

i finally rode one when I was out in California visiting Pete. They are everything I always thought they were. Big, Slow, HEAVY, cumbersome, noisy... But most of all SLOW. They cost more than a car, get, it you're lucky, 200 miles to the gas tankful, and wobble dangerously when slower than 20mph. They scream like they were going to blow up between your legs at 70mph. Damn few of them will go faster than 70. Take a test ride. You'll discover why they are driven by old people and Shriners in parades.

You know you're in a cool family when your dad warns you to test ride a bike before you buy it 'cuz it's too slow.

Yeah, baby!

(Did I ever tell you guys the story about when dad 'test rode' my VFR 1000? I was at his house and he rode away. Five or ten minutes later I heard my bike SCREAMING ALONG and then five or ten minutes later he came back. He had taken it up the road a ways, heading toward Los Alamos, and opened it up. A few miles away. Through dense forest. Man I loved that bike).

I don't remember that. What I do remember was test driving the GSXR-750 on Montgomery in Albuquerque in front of you guys apartment. Zero to 100 MPH in less than a city block. I remember calling and getting you both enrolled in California Superbike School the next week. See what I did for Keith Code here.

I wonder if this will work. First time on a Blog like this, gotta learn something new everyday. (Though I do hope there is a "delete" key if this goes horribly wrong... 8*)

Keith Code

Well, that sort-of worked, but I'll bet this one is more fun...
